Lourdes Benería Award
LACS award for those graduate students (including those pursuing professional degrees) researching gender or planning in Latin America or the Caribbean. This funding is for in-country research costs, excluding international airfare.

Eligibility exceptions
Those graduating in December 2023 or May 2024 are not eligible for this funding.
Summer Research Grants
LACS offers up to three research grants to qualified graduate students who need to conduct field research over the summer for in-country research costs, excluding international airfare. This funding requires a successful petition to Cornell to travel internationally.

Up to $1,500 each.
Eligibility
Criteria for selection include a substantive focus on Latin America or the Caribbean. Such grants are not intended to cover international travel costs (flights from the U.S. to the country of study). If you need a grant for the cost of international airfare to get to the country of your study site from the U.S., please apply for an Einaudi Center Travel Grant.
