Joshua Felton
Migrations Graduate Fellow
Joshua Felton is a PhD candidate in the section of plant biology who studies the evolution of unisexual flowers in Catopsis, the powdery air plants. Combining fieldwork with collections-based research, he asks how the dispersal and persistence of different flower types shape whether lineages expand or contract. He also traces the collecting histories of these plants, following how herbarium specimens have moved between collectors and institutions after leaving the field.
