Davis Projects for Peace

Projects for Peace is an initiative for all undergraduate students currently enrolled at one of the participating Davis United World College Scholars Program partner schools, such as Cornell University. This initiative provides $10,000 to student-designed and led projects that “promote peace and address the root causes of conflict among parties.” Typically, faculty in the Peace and Conflict Studies program have selected one or two projects for nomination to the Davis Projects for Peace. Proposals are due by January 19, 2024.

Graduates

Graduate Fellowships

The Reppy Institute is able to offer fellowships to several graduate students each year. These fellowships are awarded to Cornell PhD graduate students from any field whose dissertation research is relevant to the concerns of the institute. The fellowships cover in-absentia tuition, a stipend, and health insurance. The competition for these academic year fellowships is announced at the beginning of the spring semester, with an application deadline of March 10, 2024 for fellowships beginning in the fall.

International Research Travel Grants

Grants are available for Cornell graduate students seeking support for international travel for research and fieldwork. Graduate students are able to seek funding for multiple grants and fellowships through the application portal. Applications for International Research Travel Grants are due March 10, 2024.

Reppy Graduate Fellows Program

Reppy Fellows receive $300 for their research. The group of 8 or 9 fellows will have a separate budget to bring a speaker to campus each year and be in charge of the visit. Learn more about the Reppy Fellows Program. Applications for AY 2024-2025 are due May 16, 2024.

Campus Events

Each year the Reppy Institute is able to offer very limited funds to Cornell groups striving to bring to campus events or speakers that focus on peace studies issues and enhance institute program offerings and activities. These events must be free and open to the public. Student groups and other Cornell units interested in program support should apply in writing to the director of the Reppy Institute. Requests should include a description of the event, its relevance to peace and conflict studies, and a budget. Organizations receiving funding must also submit a report after the event.
