The National Endowment for the Humanities offers Summer Stipends that enable recipients to devote two consecutive months of full-time research and writing on a humanities project. Projects may be ones that can be completed during the stipend period or part of a long-range endeavor. Recipients usually produce scholarly articles, monographs or specialized subjects, books on broad topics, archaeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly tools.
Cornell Internal Selection Process: Cornell is limited to submitting two nominations. Nominees can be either junior or senior faculty. Faculty include senior lecturers and lecturers. (Note: The following individuals may apply without a nomination: university staff who are not faculty and will not be teaching during the academic year preceding the award tenure; and adjunct faculty, part-time faculty, and applicants with academic appointments that terminate by the summer of the award tenure.)
