CORNELL UNIVERSITY: Engaged Curriculum Grants
Deadline:
Friday, April 6, 2018 - 00:00
Discipline:
Open
Region:
Global
Engaged Curriculum Grants create, expand, and strengthen community-engaged curricula (majors and minors) by funding teams of faculty — and their community partners — that are integrating community engagement into courses. These grants enable departments, programs, and collaborative cross-disciplinary groups to enrich diverse Cornell curricula by developing and learning from varieties of community engagement. Engaged Curriculum Grants promote the alignment of community engagement with the research, applications, problem-solving activities, or experiential learning of particular courses, and thus they integrate an intentional connection with the public with the core learning goals of the course. Beyond and by means of the particular courses created in this context, these grants encourage departments and programs to develop an understanding of the intersection of community engagement with disciplinary teaching, learning, and knowledge-creation and to apply that understanding to their curricula and to their research. In addition to funding, teams receiving grants are supported by expert staff and faculty peers throughout the university.
Application deadline is April 6, 2018. (New applicants were required to submit a letter of intent (LOI) by January 17.)
