2014 Case Studies
In preparation for this symposium, members of the internationalization council at Cornell were asked to identify two or three meaningful international experiences of their respective college. Faculty or administrative leaders of the identified international experiences were then asked to address the following questions:
- What are the key characteristics of the educational abroad programs (including pre- and post-departure activities; assessment and evaluation)?
- What are the intended student learning outcomes from participating in this international experience related to knowledge generation, changed attitudes, and developed skills, and how do these relate to the overall curriculum of the students?
- What makes this international experience meaningful?
The results have been compiled into a series of short case studies, which serve to inform, inspire and challenge the Cornell community to think about meaningful international experiences for students.
