Educator Professional Development

The Cornell Educational Resources for International Studies (CERIS) outreach group will offer two workshops on Global Responses to Climate Change. Each workshop will offer ideas for teaching about climate change from an international perspective.

The first workshop offered on March 14, 2008 is for middle and high school teachers. This workshop will internationalize the discussion of climate change by looking at case studies in specific world regions. Teachers will receive resources, references, and ideas for teaching about climate change from a global perspective.

The second workshop on April 25, 2008 is designed for elementary teachers. This workshop will offer a model for teaching about global climate change designed by Julie Kulik, nature educator with Earth Arts. Teachers will have the opportunity to use CERIS resources to develop a lesson on climate change related to Africa, Europe, Latin America, South Asia, or Southeast Asia.

See the Global Responses to Climate Change flyers for more information.
