The Einaudi Center announces a biannual seed grant program designed to advance international studies at Cornell. Tenured and tenure-track Cornell faculty are eligible to apply for these grants, as are Programs and Centers within the university, irrespective of their college or school of origin.

Small Grant Competition

The Einaudi Center’s new biannual small grant program is designed to support international studies conferences and events. Tenured and tenure-track Cornell faculty are eligible to apply for these small grants, as are Programs and Centers within the university, irrespective of their college or school of origin.

Criteria

The grant’s general objective is to support international studies conferences and events. We are particularly interested in proposals that:

  1. Request co-sponsorship for conferences, workshops, seminars, and other events;
  2. Are thematically related to the Center’s two current initiatives: contemporary foreign policy and international development;
  3. Have discernable benefits to international studies at Cornell;
  4. Conform to the highest academic standards.

We encourage faculty with proposals related to China to submit these to the Jeffrey S. Lehman Fund.

Amount of Award

Not to exceed $ 10,000

Application Deadlines

August 15, 2009 (awards are announced in September)

Supported Activities

Grants will support expenses related to conferences, workshops, seminar, and other events. Grants will not fund salary replacement or summer salary and graduate student assistantships.

Period of Activity

All funds must be used within one year of award date.
