The Mario Einaudi Center’s Fulbright Advisor supports Cornell’s graduate students applying for the annual nationwide Fulbright-Hays awards for the U.S. Department of Education. These prestigious grants provide generous support to individual doctoral students who conduct research in other countries, in modern foreign languages and area studies for periods of six to 12 months.
Projects deepen research knowledge on and help the nation develop capability in areas of the world not generally included in U.S. curricula. Projects focusing on Western Europe are not supported.
Students may propose research for 6 to 12 months. The fellowship may not be renewed.
Information meetings are held twice during the spring semester and again the first week of the fall semester for the following year's competition. Dates are posted on the calendar for each session.
Applicants should arrange individual counseling sessions with Cornell's Fulbright-Hays advisor, Professor Emeritus Gil Levine. Contact the Mario Einaudi Center for an appointment.
The application is online at: http://e-grants.ed.gov and is available beginning September 5, 2007. Check the Department of Education website, http://www.ed.gov/programs/iegpsddrap/applicant.html, for the announcement posting.
