Seed Grant Competition

The Einaudi Center announces a biannual seed grant program designed to advance international studies at Cornell. Tenured and tenure-track Cornell faculty are eligible to apply for these grants, as are Programs and Centers within the university, irrespective of their college or school of origin.

Fulbright-Hays Awards

Receive support to travel abroad to conduct your research

The Mario Einaudi Center’s Fulbright Advisor supports Cornell’s graduate students applying for the annual nationwide Fulbright-Hays awards for the U.S. Department of Education. These prestigious grants provide generous support to individual doctoral students who conduct research in other countries, in modern foreign languages and area studies for periods of six to 12 months.

Types of Projects

Projects deepen research knowledge on and help the nation develop capability in areas of the world not generally included in U.S. curricula. Projects focusing on Western Europe are not supported.

A student is eligible to receive a fellowship if he or she:

Students may propose research for 6 to 12 months. The fellowship may not be renewed.

Applying

Information meetings are held twice during the spring semester and again the first week of the fall semester for the following year's competition. Dates are posted on the calendar for each session.

Applicants should arrange individual counseling sessions with Cornell's Fulbright-Hays advisor, Professor Emeritus Gil Levine. Contact the Mario Einaudi Center for an appointment.

The application is online at: http://e-grants.ed.gov and is available beginning September 5, 2007. Check the Department of Education website, http://www.ed.gov/programs/iegpsddrap/applicant.html, for the announcement posting. Transcripts must be delivered to Brigid Shipman in 158 Uris Hall by the on-campus deadline date.

Deadlines

Cornell campus deadline is typically mid to late October each year, the deadline will be announced in early fall. You must contact the Einaudi Center if you are interested in applying.
