Climate Change in East Asia

A curriculum unit by Julie Nichols Kulik

The East Asia Program in conjunction with Cornell Educational Resources for International Studies (CERIS) makes the global response to climate change a central theme for professional development workshops and curriculum development in the academic year of 2007-2008. On April 25, 2008 elementary teachers will attend a workshop designed to create lesson plans on climate change and its impact around the globe. As part of these efforts, EAP and Julie Nichols Kulik developed a unit on climate change in East Asia for the elementary classroom. In addition to providing content driven lesson plans, this unit provides a model for teacher-created curriculum on climate change in Africa, Europe, Latin America, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.
