East Asia Program (EAP) Fellowships

As a major conduit of support for Cornell graduate students (second year and beyond) whose work focuses on China, Japan or Korea, EAP offers the following academic year fellowships:

• Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships (restricted to U.S. citizens or permanent residents)
• Robert J. Smith Fellowships in Japanese Studies (no citizenship restrictions)
• Starr Fellowships (no citizenship restrictions)
• Lee Teng-hui Fellowships in World Affairs (no citizenship restrictions)

FLAS Fellowships provide tuition and stipend for a full academic year. The other three typically provide tuition and stipend for one semester.

Applications are available at the EAP office, 140 Uris Hall, or from the links provided to the right of this page. Deadline for receipt of applications, transcripts and letters of recommendation for fellowships to be awarded for 08-09 is Monday, Feb. 4, 2008.
