Cornell's East Asia Program- Associates in Research
For over a decade, Cornell University's East Asia Program has extended an invitation to professors & independent scholars with teaching and/or research interests in Japan, China, and Korea to join our Associates in Research (AIR) program. Designed to foster collaborative relationships with post-secondary faculty at educational institutions throughout New York State and northern Pennsylvania, AIR offers:
- Access to the Cornell University Library, which includes Kroch Library's Wason (East Asia) Collection, containing 500,000 books, periodicals, microfilms, and audiovisual materials in Asian and Western languages. If your university does not have access to inter-library loan, you may apply for Cornell library privileges. For those who live out of the area and may only visit once or twice a year, we can provide short-term (one month) cards during your stay.
- Notification of all East Asia Program events including lectures, films, workshops, symposia, cultural performances, and artistic exhibits, etc. EAP provides free admission and local accommodations (on a first come - first served basis) to AIRs who reside outside of Tompkins County.
- Inclusion in the East Asia Program directory, which also lists our core and affiliated faculty at Cornell
- A subscription to our semi-annual newsletter
