Fall 2009 IAD Seminar Series
FALL SEMINAR SCHEDULEThe Fall Seminar Series on Financing African Development: Economic and Humanitarian Aid and Sustainable Development in Africa is now in full swing. Don't miss this week's presentation with Thomas Kwasi Tieku, Professor of International Relations and Coordinator of the African Studies Program at Toronto University. His topic will be Aid Paradox: Why Turning off the Aid Tap Won't Do the Trick.
Thomas Kwasi Tieku teaches international relations and directs the African Studies Program at the University of Toronto, where he was recently awarded the Ranjini Ghosh Award for excellence in teaching. He has a B.A. with Honors from the University of Ghana, an M.A. from Brock University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. His areas of interest include international mediation and diplomacy; conflict resolution; multilateral democracy promotion, international political economy; international institutions and comparative regional integration; politics of international development; and African politics. He has consulted on these subjects for development organizations including the World Bank Group and government agencies. His recent works can be found in African Affairs, Africa Today, African Security Review, Canadian Foreign Policy Journal and International Journal.
