Outreach

Southeast Asia Outreach is a component of the Cornell University Southeast Asia Program (SEAP), a U.S. Department of Education National Resource Center (NRC) dedicated to furthering the understanding of the history, culture and societies of Southeast Asia to students, teachers, businesses, professionals and community members.

SEAP Outreach is also particularly interested in providing programming such as classroom visits, cultural events, and activities for after school and enrichment programs. We can mount small exhibits on Southeast Asian topics for schools and libraries and arrange for speakers for community and business organizations. We can help you tap into the ever-changing array of talent and Southeast Asia expertise at Cornell.

teacher training

We offer teacher training workshops on a wide variety of topics related to Southeast Asia and we collaborate with CERIS (Cornell Educational Resources for International Studies) to organize a number of International Studies Institutes each year. Professional development presentations on specific Southeast Asia topics can also be scheduled in your school district. A Southeast Asia Teacher Study Group has been meeting regularly to provide sustained and in-depth professional development for teachers.

Please read the information above detailing the upcoming NYCAS Teacher Training Seminar "Education in Asia" and take advantage of this wonderful professional development opportunity.
