Literacy maintance is strongly related to cultural preservation. SEAP's purposes for posting these books are
- To support the Karen families who are teaching Karen culture and language literacy to their younger children
- To maintain Karen literacy amongst the older children and adults
- To support the ESL teachers, sponsors and others who are encouraging Karen people to preserve their languages.
