SEAP Student Graduate Committee
The Student Committee is dedicated to enhancing the quality of the academic and social environment of the Southeast Asia Program. The Committee is made up of graduate students from the SEAP Program. The Committee's primary responsibilities are to plan the weekly Brown Bag Lecture Series, the annual Graduate Student Symposium, and the annual SEAP Spring Banquet. In addition, the Committee organizes other lectures, films, and special events and assists faculty and staff with special programs throughout the academic year.
The Brown Bag Lecture Series is a well-known Thursday lunchtime tradition. Every Thursday during the Fall and Spring semesters (except university holidays), the Committee invites a Southeast Asia scholar from Cornell or another institution to present an informal lecture. The lectures take place in the Kahin Center, 640 Stewart Ave, at 12:20 p.m. A light luncheon is provided. Please view additional information on upcoming SEAP events.
The Symposium is the annual conference providing opportunities for all students of Southeast Asian Studies to submit and present their ideas. The symposium takes place at the Kahin Center around April of every year.
