An Endowed Professorship Approved by the University Board of Trustees

Congratulations to Matthew Evangelista!

The Board of Trustees approved the election of Matthew Evangelista as the President White Professor of Political Science, effective November 1, 2009.   Matt is currently the chair of the Department of Government and continues to be actively involved with the Peace Studies Program.  He is the immediate past director of the program and is a member of the steering committee. 

President White was president of the American delegation to The Hague Peace Conference in 1899.  It was after that experience that he offered a course of lectures at Cornell on new technology and war.
