The Michael J. Harum Memorial Award for Students of Russian and Other Slavic Languages

Harum
The Michael J. Harum Memorial Award for Students of Slavic Languages was established with generous contributions from Michael's family, the Institute for European Studies (IES) at Cornell University, and many others who loved and respected this extraordinary man. The purpose of the award is to support Cornell undergraduates while they continue their language studies in Russia or some other country where their desired language is spoken. Preference for the Harum Award will be given a) to students who enroll via Cornell Abroad in a semester-long study (fall or spring) at a credit-worthy institution in Russia or another Slavic-language country or b) to students who enroll independently in a summer program of similar quality. All programs must be approved by the Director of IES and/or the Chair of the Russian Department. General questions regarding study abroad should be addressed to Cornell Abroad at (607) 255-6224 or via email at CUAbroad@cornell.edu. Questions about Russian and other Slavic language courses should be addressed to the Department of Russian at (607) 255-8350. Completed applications are to be submitted to the office of the Institute for European Studies in 120 Uris Hall.
