Mario Einaudi Graduate Fellowship for Research in Europe

Mario EinaudiEvery other year, the San Giacomo Charitable Foundation awards a fellowship to a Cornell student. Named in honor of Cornell Professor Emeritus Mario Einaudi, who died in May 1994, the fellowship is awarded on a competitive basis to a candidate whose research reflects a commitment to Mario Einaudi's goal of interpreting the United States to Europe and Europe to the United States. The competition is open to Cornell advanced graduate students in the social sciences, history and philosophy who plan to spend an academic year in Europe, preferably but not necessarily in Italy. Contingent on funding becoming available, the next Cornell application deadline is February 1st, 2010 and will provide funding for AY 2010-2011. The amount of the award is approximately $27,000, which includes a stipend, in absentia fees, and Cornell SHIP payments. Pre-doctoral candidates must have completed the "A" exam in their department, or have an exam date scheduled prior to submitting their application, and have a dissertation project approved by their special committee.
