The Institute administers many funding opportunities to support the study of European languages, culture and society. Annual fellowships, field research grants and other competitions are run for Cornell undergraduates, graduate students, language instructors, and junior faculty. Student organizations that are registered with Cornell’s Student Activities Office may request funding from the Institute to support multidisciplinary curricula, research projects, initiatives, and events centering on Europe. In addition, K-12 educators from upstate New York may apply for a grant to develop a curriculum unit focusing on Europe. Please check the details for each of these special funding opportunities.
Applicants should complete the appropriate application form and return it to the IES office before the deadline. Each fellowship or grant has specific criteria, so we suggest that questions be discussed with an advisor at the Institute prior to submission of the application.
