International figures in government, business, academia, and the arts who are working on East Asia regularly affiliate with the East Asia Program as Visiting Fellows for terms ranging from one month to a year. These scholars conduct research and collaborate with their Cornell counterparts. Our community benefits greatly from interaction with these scholars, most of whom participate actively in program activities. Some are invited to teach. Many present lectures, advise students, and participate in conferences, symposia, workshops and our community outreach program.
