East Asian Courses

Cornell offers over 225 East Asia-related courses in the humanities and social sciences–and in fields as diverse as city and regional planning, agriculture, management, and industrial and labor relations. Instruction is offered at every level from introductory survery courses through graduate seminars at the frontiers of knowledge. Cornell teaches four modern East Asian languages: all levels of Mandarin and Japanese and three levels of Korean and Cantonese. Classical Chinese and Japanese and a full range of literature courses taught in English and in the languages of East Asia are also offered.
