About Us

Cornell combines Ivy League excellence in the liberal arts with the kind of practical instruction in agriculture, economic development, planning, and human services that is typical of a major land-grant university. This unique combination creates extraordinary opportunities for research, scholarship and interdisciplinary education. The East Asia Program (EAP) stands at the hub of a campus-wide network that encompasses virtually all of Cornell's schools and colleges. Attention to East Asia in the form of courses, faculty research, libraries, art exhibitions, language-learning resources, student organizations, and exchange programs extends throughout this pluralistic structure, but is coordinated and supported by the EAP. In addition, the Program sponsors numerous lectures and events on East Asia, administers an outreach program, and publishes the Cornell East Asia Series, Chinese Business History, and a semi-annual newsletter.
