Speakers Bureau

The Institute for African Development administers fellowships for African students for graduate study in fields related to development. These students are available to speak to small or large classrooms during the academic year as part of the IAD Speakers Bureau.

The presentation themes are flexible to the teachers’ classroom and curriculum needs. Past presentations have included talks on Kente cloth and Adinkra symbols from Ghana, and Nigerian food and traditions. The speakers have also had informal craft making sessions with the students.

If you would like to bring a speaker to your classroom or school, please contact the Institute at 607-255-5499/6849 or by e-mail at ab449@cornell.edu.
